Succulent Wreath Tutorial

Using your 40% off coupon buy a set of wire wreaths from Joann's. Buy a big bag of Spaggman (sp?) moss from the local Home Depot. Fill the moss bag with water to get the moss good and wet. Spread the moss in the bottom of one wire frame.

Here is a sampling of the succulent cuttings Kenzie and I gathered from our back bank. I was scared of the potential snakes, so she did most of the work while I barked out orders of which plants I wanted. We both managed to avert any snake bites. Kenzie was bitten by a few needles from the cactus.

Leave cuttings out 24 hours or so to form a callus on the ends. Stems should be cut so there will adequate "stemmage" to stuff in wreath.

Next layer potting soil on top of moist moss.

Layer moss on top of potting soil.

Place another wire wreath on top. Using floral wire wrap and pack wreaths very tightly.

Finished wrapped wreath. Now go search through your husband's tools for his most treasured screwdriver. You will use the screwdriver to make holes in you moss/soil to stick stems in.

Stick stems in and design to your liking.
