Supposedly I am on summer break from school. However, if I want next semester to go smoothly there is a large project that I must start this summer. The project is a year long commitment to an evidenced based change project. I have picked my topic, gathered a ton of research, read a ton of research, organized my working space, met with two advisors, and now I must start writing the proposal for the project. This proposal will be submitted to my faculty advisor, SDSU and Grossmont Hospital. If the proposal is approved I can move forward, if not I have to rework the proposal and resubmit.
This proposal is the first real step in undertaking the project. The proposal is where all my ideas in my head match up with the research, then every detail of the project must be described. At the moment the task is overwhelming. I want to do everything except get started.
Below is a picture of a bridge. I am this side of the "bridge" right now. This year long process will require many steps to cross the bridge to get to the other side of completion. I wish I was on that other side right now. I wish it was all behind me. I am just starting out and the task seems daunting.
My goal is to have most, 90% of my proposal written by next Monday night. If I can get it all down I will be one small step closer to the other side of the bridge.
